Are you in the academic sector and do research on energy issues? So, this blog post will interest you. In the Energy division of the IDB we are creating a platform that in the coming months will become one of the most important digital centers in the energy sector in the region. This is how Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) will have an Energy HUB with data, information, intelligence and a space that promotes networking for innovation and leadership in the sector. Through this IDB initiative, it seeks to promote innovation in energy policy, encourage innovative research and collaboration between sectors to help developing countries solve energy challenges.
And to do this, we also want to have a network of academic knowledge to promote the use of the transformation of the energy sector in order to improve the quality of service to users. The HUB of energy knowledge for the region The energy HUB will establish a digital platform that will collect energy data and information C Level Executive List available in the region; will act as a forum to promote regional research and cross-dissemination of experiences; and will be a key driver for innovation and strategic leadership in the energy sector. We know that data and information are increasingly relevant, and in this complex, but fascinating combination of technologies, academic disciplines, and human behaviors it is important to have a knowledge network.
To be part of this revolution, LAC countries and stakeholders must: evaluate the challenges hindering the growth of your industry; learn about the technologies that represent an opportunity for solutions for the region; quickly absorb changes to avoid lock-in situations; adapt technological changes to the needs and specificities of each country; and track changes made to transform the process into cumulative knowledge. The continuous generation of data, information and intelligence, the feeding of information, the evaluation and the development of specific knowledge are key elements for the region to benefit from new opportunities and the efficient adaptation of policies and regulations. For this project, the IDB intends to create the LAC Energy HUB University Network.
